How did you find your first beta testers?

Hey makers, I am working on launching Lazy https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/lazy very soon. Would love anyone's advice on how to get more beta testers interested in IoT! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

My case was oddly specific since the community Makerlog targets is… well… the one for makers haha

The best way to find good testers is to go to where your niche is and market there. PH and BetaList get signups, but not of the highest quality unless that audience is same as yours.

High quality testers === niche groups where your audience hangs out.

Greatly appreciate for writing back Sergio, It makes sens, I made the same observation regarding Betalist and PH, I will definitely dive into Reddit IoT communities 🤓

@ahmedmen Reddit is a tough audience. Just be yourself and don't be too spammy. :)

@ahmedmen Hackster.io could be a cool place, lots of people interested in DIY IoT stuff, and might want a way to trigger it 😄 Also probably open to testing since they are another type of makers
