Do you maintain idea notes? What is your favourite Notes app?

There are so many options available for creating a to-do list or notes in general. MakerLog is another cool place to maintain a log of your progress.

How do you create your ideas log? For me it's Apple Notes. It's not feature loaded but enough to meet my needs.

Just curious to know how other makers maintain their notes.

I just use OneNote, super easy to stay organized and I can access it anywhere.

Don't you find it feature-loaded?

@anurag619 it certainly has a lot of features, but I just use Sections and Pages and then general lists and formatting. Only has to be as complicated as you make it. I also use this tool I made for tasks: https://www.retrospect.team/

I use a combination of Apple Notes, Trello and a good old-fashioned pen & paper notebook at any given time

What do you keep them in-sync? I mean what if you want something written in your paper notebook and you don't have it around.

@anurag619 i always have them with me, haha! however, they all have mutually exclusive functions. e.g. Trello for to-dos, Notes for references and notes (literally, its namesake Lol), and paper notebook for dreamy, long-form thoughts and idea-sketching

@poppacalypse the only way you can achieve this feat is by carrying all. Perhaps I am bit lazy and always failed to sync them. Keeping a physical copy is very difficult.

@anurag619 Trello syncs with my phone and it's my go-to when i need to record a random thought, if i don't have my notebook with me. i generally don't need Apple Notes unless i'm on my laptop working on something. Normally when i'm out, just having my phone with me suffices. After which, i get home and transfer them to the relevant tools

Evernote is my ride or die. I just brain dump all of my thoughts into it, and I love that it syncs up between all my devices.

I have seen many use Evernote. Last time I used it, I found it bit feature-loaded. Things that were distracting me.

I use a combination of Trello and Evernote. Evernote is useful for noting details about an idea, while I use Trello to keep track of the status of ideas (idea stage, in-progress, completed).

I have tried Trello but sometimes I fail to keep up with both.

It can be tough to keep up with it. Making use of it for a while and making it a habit, it becomes quite an efficient process.

@anurag619 Been using it for quite a while. It's amazing. Unfinite essentially runs on Notion.
