Should I release a single player version of my game?

Hi Makers,    I'm building a cross platform game which, in my opinion, is best suited for mobile. I have currently finished developing the core mechanics for the game and have an initial single player version of the game with some basic AI working (still needs more polish). The initial vision for the game was for it to be multiplayer based. But recently, I started wondering if I should release the idea as single player first, in order to validate the idea and gameplay mechanic, or if I should spend the extra time to develop the multiplayer feature into the game before releasing? Thoughts and any experience are welcomed :)
