Who is your go-to hosting provider?

Do you use GitHub Pages, Digital Ocean, GoDaddy, Netlify, neither… (Just wondering)

I use Netlify. It's feature-rich, it has a nice UI, and it's free.

I use Github Pages and Zeit Now atm. Considering switching to Render or Scalingo, would I choose to go with Elixir on the back.

playlists.io is hosted on DigitalOcean and to get Laravel with PHP, Nguni and MySQL to work was a painful, really painful.

I love Netlify. That’s also a reason why I’m building dotdeploy.net, so you can have the same awesome experience for .Net Core too.

I’ll use Netlify probably also for my frontend on dotdeploy.

Here are the hosting setups I am using:

  • Netlify - For static portfolio sites or personal blog (11ty for blog generation)
  • Digital Ocean - For sites built with Nuxt
  • Digital Ocean Spaces - For hosting media downloads
  • Vultr + RunCloud - For sites built with WordPress

Is there a reason why you host your NuxtJS frontend on DO? Nuxt on Netlify works just so awesome.

@yasin Yes, Netlify would work great too for Nuxt frontend. I have projects with Nuxt + Express back-end and I currently deploy both front-end and back-end on DO.

DigitalOcean - For all web apps. GitHub Pages - For all static/marketing websites.

I'm using netlify. Recently they introduced the concept of build time. For a free plan, you have a maximum of up to 300 minutes. But be careful because if you don't change settings, they will build your branches. And that'll reduce your allocated time.
