What do I need to add to stay privacy compliant with GA

I want to add Google Analytics to my website, but I'm unsure about which pages or banners I need to add to stay compliant with privacy regulations.

At the moment I think I need to use a cookie banner and a privacy policy.

What is your setup, is there anything I'm missing?

I'm pretty sure they're GDPR compliant by default, as they store the data.

Though, what should I use as a Privacy policy? Do I need to present a cookie banner?

@bcye There's a bunch of generators online, they should be okay. Just make sure your app is GDPR compliant.

@sergio I meant not only GDPR compliant, but with other laws in general.

I'm currently using fathom, but want to switch to Google analytics, do you know what I need to watch out for, or need to do?
