UI/UX change for service

Hey folk, I got feedback from a reddit user that jobs row here http://remoter.net/ looks a little bit confusing and job data can be structured more usable. He made a small quick mockup for job row

What do you think about old vs new job row?

Hm. I'd probably add the logo to the left.

Personally I like your layout better, no need for "Location" as they are remote jobs. Pricing is "Good to know" but not needed on the homepage. "Active" isn't necessary at all, aren't all jobs displayed active already? Date isn't needed either.

If you were to change anything, I'd move the tags under the title and the Company Name to the top right corner. Also, do you need "remote" on each job? Isn't that already an expectation? I'd say your default shadow on each row is too much, make that the hover amount. You can see what I do on my job board: https://www.mynext.team/

Cheers!

some of the jobs need location like in UTC +1 to +4, for example, either the US or Europe only

aren't all jobs displayed active already?

They are, only active displayed.

I'd say your default shadow on each row is too much, make that the hover amount.

Agree, I will change it

Thanks a lot!

Glad I could help, here are a few other tweaks.

  1. The labels for the categories at the top of the site on a medium sized screen all run together, you could probably make your font-size smaller for them and not have issues.
  2. You don't have much of a hover style on your primary buttons, may consider doing something a bit more obvious.
  3. Job details: Your font-size is a bit small, as is your line-height. Try font-size: 16px and line-height: 24px. I'd remove text-align: justify too. (awkward to read with it).
  4. Job Details: List Item spacing on your lists is too small too. (Though on this job: https://remoter.net/jobs/full-stack-engineer-6d185100-9208-4afa-bcfa-8cff2a1e2754 it's adding

tag to the list item so spacing looks good. Need to standardize if you can.

  5. I'd add a padding of 40px on the left and right of your job--description, makes your paragraph width shorter (easier to read) and allows content to breath between the border.
  6. Tags on job rows, the hover effect makes the text go White and you can barely see it.
  7. Job title on rows could be larger so it stands out more.
  8. Location, Salary are too strong, fade it back like you do the company name.

Hope that helps. Cheers.

Ha, it's not that bad at all, just needs bit of refinement. You could consider these too.

  1. "Remote Jobs" category item could be removed, and just move the icon up to the main header. This would help with your text bumping into each other as well.
  2. I feel like "Programmers & Developers" is the same thing, could change label to just "Developers".
  3. "Support Specialists" to just "Support"
  4. "Notifications" get's lost to me, just looks like another category, rather than a different type of page.

What would you suggest to do with notifications? Maybe add to the job show page under details? Would you suggest another place?

Changes are looking good so far. As far as the notifications go, I'd make it look quite different from everything else. Maybe it's a sticky footer, or maybe it's at the bottom of every page, or maybe it's a bar across the top of the site. Maybe add some text as to Why they should sign up for notifications.
