Too early for Product Hunt? rooki.design, online magazine for young designers
Hi makers!!
I’m Ed, an Italian design student and I recently launched https://rooki.design , a new online magazine dedicated to young creatives. We publish a new edition every Monday and have a newsletter + social media accounts to keep up to date.
Rooki was born from frustration in finding good, free resources for design students. Now, students can find everything they need in one single place. It’s completely non-profit and I created it since I am a student myself and know the struggle. It will include interviews with established designers (I interviewed the likes of Paula Scher, George Lois and Tobias Van Schneider already), a collection of articles found online and original content catered for young people.
We are also running free design students awards thanks to the help of Awwwards and the FWA, providing great prizes (worth $140) and completely free entry.
The big question now is: is it too early to launch on Product Hunt? Some people told me to wait to have a big following on social media while others told me to launch as soon as possible. I would love any feedback or help on this since I'm a rookie (hehe) and have no idea where to start.
Thank you so much and I love this community!!
I already see rooki.design all over my twitter feed. I don't know about others but I sincerely think you got a great traction. Good job. 👌👌
Hey Ankit, wow thank you so much!! Do you think I should launch on PH then?
i vote launch sooner! I did littlelingua.eu and impostersyndrome with absolutely zero audience, and they did pretty well!
Really nice site design i subbed , regarding launch if you feel ready go for it! if you want people to sign up to social media maybe worth having a prompt after they have subscribed to push them towards your social media? something like 'The worst is over, your treat will be in your inbox soon. In the meantime why not follow us on social media'
Hey guys, we just launched! I would love your support ❤️ https://www.producthunt.com/posts/rooki-design
