What is maker score?
I'm new, I don't know what Maker Score means and how it's calculated
+1. I'm assuming it relates to number of tasks done per day and consistency over time, but an explanation would be great.
I think it's whenever someone claps on one of your posts, the more claps the higher your score. That's what I have always thought anyway.
I'm sure Sergio will jump in here and clear this up soon, but +1. When the redesign launched, my Maker Score was in the low 800s, then the next day it dropped to mid-700s, and now it's back up to 843. I thought it might be a ranking, but that doesn't add up either.
Hey folks!
So I'm here, I just noticed this discussion π
Alright, so the maker Score takes a variety of factors as inputs, and it gets higher depending on how productive you are on the platform.
It's secret to prevent cheating (there's a few anti cheat measures) and will be used in most calculations like leaderboards from this year forward.
It takes a variety of factors in consideration:
- Streak coverage - how much you've been streaking since the day you've joined.
- Praise - weighted very little as it is easy to manipulate
- Task count - also weighted a little
- General penalty - anti cheat for off stats
- TDA etc
Also keep in mind if you lose your streak it means you lose streak coverage - so it is a small penalty taken.
Very cool. I thought it was a simple combination of streaks + projects + praises. Thanks for the explanation Sergio
