It has to be run only for certain scopes, but of course, they're the most useful ones.    And it needs to be clarified because I've also heard it's only for apps using a backend and not for apps using the API only in the front end.    Too bad I've started to become more familiar with Google Apis despite their bad documentation. It shows the danger of working on the back of companies' API.
