Which app for personal budget do you use?

I am looking for apps for budgeting expenses and tracking spendings.

James Kenny

It's all in an Excel spread sheet saved in Dropbox, I can use it anywhere and everywhere.

I use quite a few.

  • Mint
  • Personal Capital
  • YNAB (you need a budget)

Yes, some of these overlap in feature sets. I like using them each for different things. YMMV, good luck!

I'm using quickbooks, it makes VAT returns a lot lot easier for me! Also syncs with Monzo bank account so don't need to manually add things

I use Moneon (on Android). Free and simple to use.

I use YNAB and can highly recommend it. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but considering that I lose track of my spending two days after I stop using it, makes it worth it.

Also they give students a one year free trial and 10% (lifetime I think) discount after that.

Thank you everyone for your recommendations! Lately I read a lot of articles about budgeting, discovered interesting methods like Kakeibo and 50/30/20 and last weekend I set down and programmed an interactive budget planner, based on those methods and rules in YNAB. I would appreciate your feedback, if it might be also helpful for you. Here it is - MoneyDo: Budget Planner.

I gave it a go. Very well thought-out and I love the 50-30-20 concept.

Small note - on page 3/9 "dept" should be spelled as "debt".
