Hey, I have a question for remote workers out there
Which software/apps does your company use in order to stay connected and do the work? Slack, Toggle, Skype, Team Viewer, G Drive, Trello…
I think it depends on the size of the business. For me, having partnerships in Sweden we're using Facebook Messenger and it's working great.
Slack has taken over our entire communications flow, half our team is in Austin, the other half in Europe.
Over the years we've used a ton of tools to stay connected. Email, Skype, GoToMeeting, Hangouts, etc. Slack became our exclusive tool once they made screen sharing & video calls native for paid accounts.
Thanks guys! So, Facebook messenger and Slack for communication, but what about things like hour tracking and tasks management?
I use Notion for both hour tracking & task management. But honestly anything works, I just like Notion because it's free and syncs between my phone and computer easily 👌
We built a task management system internally years ago and have iterated on it pretty consistently, so we haven't used anything outside of that for team task management.
Individually we all have different methods to keep track of what needs to be done "now/today". Even though this info exists inside of the task system, everyone seems to like crossing off their own list separately as well. This personal short list is managed in everything from paper, google sheets, GTD systems, etc. I'm in the process of trying out Product Hunt Tab and Maker Log for this.
@tomaswoksepp I'm curious how do you track the hours using Notion. Do you write down manually "3h refactoring landing page" for example? Thanks for your feedback!
Most of my remote jobs are done via Slack. Only single small clients don't use it and do stuff via email still.
