Feedback for site that helps you learn how to prevent climate change

Hi guys, I've been working on a site that makes it easier for people to learn what they can do today to help with climate breakdown.

It's a non-profit project created with others from the Impact Makers (https://techimpactmakers.com) community who also care about this issue.

I'd love to hear some feedback on our approach and if you find the content useful. Also, ideas to help get the word out there?

Thanks!

Love the idea, I own a few 'helping the environment' niche sites as well.

How do you plan to promote it?

Thanks! What are your sites? :)

Good question - That's what I'm trying to work out currently.

We have a community of 140+ people in Impact Makers who will help share it. I'm also working on plans for a product hunt launch. Planning to reach out to a few people who care about the issue in groups and on social media too to try and get a few ambassadors to share the site.

Each page on the site has a unique share section. The goal has been to make it really easy for anyone to share the site with their friends and followers - so if we can get the site in front of enough people I think there is viral potential.

Any other ideas appreciated!

@shylands I'm a link builder @ linkopportunity.io

I got my composting/saving water site featured on education.com + a bunch of school's .edu sites as additional resources.

if I can use this as a case study, I'm down to send some emails.

@vctr I don't want to assume that I understand. So, what is link building? Is that just like getting your name (link) out there to get visibility? Like PR, but for websites?

Also, I think I might be able to help both you and @shylands. I'm working on a site that is for publishing case studies. Once we are in beta, I'd love for you to publish it on Statalog.

@shylands I need you (or your team) to do my site, this really neat. I really am in love with the design. Specifically

  • the updating words in the hero section
  • the tl;dr section is awesome and really smart
  • love the added card that says to watch for new guides

The only thing I see that could be better, is… the footer column(s) for "Your Choices" wasn't super obvious that the header was for both… orrrrrrrrr, maybe it overflowed to another column. Either way, thats my only constructive feedback.

Edit: I'm on my laptop. 1440px wide
