Cannot decide on the product name

Hello there, I nearly finished with building my expense tracking telegram bot. Already received and improved a lot of things based on the valuable feedback.

Currently, the project name is Dollar Dollar (a reference to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFZP8zQ5kzk)

I'm want something to be more catchy and more self-explanatory, I'm considering renaming Dollar Dollar into one of the next things:

celery.money cabbage.cash kale.money pineapple.cash broccoli.money cabbage.money cactus.money corn.money celery.cash

I never noticed it before, but seems like I have some sort of obsession with fruits and vegetables.

All I can do is repeeting.

We at NameRobot have built a dozen tools and services around naming. The Toolbox has more than 100 free tools to help you. (https://www.namerobot.com/toolbox)

the checks and exams cost a little, because brand protection is not always easy.

I don't think it was a good choice with the dollar dollar name :D so your current decision to change the name is a good one. But hey, currently everything is allowed in branding. In Germany it exists Blablabus.

I would abstain from cabbage, it reads like garbage. Can I ask why vegetables or fruits?

With Dollar Dollar, it was my fastest path from concept to MVP, due to not thinking about the names, domains, twitter handles etc.. So yeah, I used it as a provisional name.

I like blabla idea, I think in Russia there is a uber-like startup called blablacar.

Not sure where my obsession came from but money should grow the same way as fruits or vegetable does.

@ummahusla when the reason is known, it makes sense. so you should use this as slogan!!

Pineapple Cash
Money should grow the same way as fruits!

:-) in this combination you can see the whole thing immediately. it's always hard to do it alone. we also have some fruits with us, too, for example namefruits. but we rather use the main word instead of a single fruit.

if you take a single fruit, it can work, see apple. but when the brand doesn't get big, the reference is often not always there. with your slogan the whole thing works a lot better.

If those are the options I'd choose celery.money or pineapple.cash

Pineapple.cash would make a much better/attractive logo than celery 😁

I kinda like the idea to combine attributes your like to associate with the project into the name. Something like "spendsmart.com" or "spendclever.app". Sometimes I got with names like "WhereDidMyMoneyGo.app" kind of names, but these have downsides as making logos a pain.

For convenience, I leave a tab with my side-project startupnamecheck.com open and put name ideas in there whenever I come up with something. I know it doesn't work for everyone like this, but that's the approach I've build it for initial 😂️

I'd consider three elements:

  1. Who is the target market (segmentation)
  2. What is your differentiation (unlike others, we…)
  3. What's your wow (where's the experiential pop?)

I don't have the info but guessing that the Telegram bot makes it a 24x7 conversation, so you are not filling out forms but rather talking with your accountant, at your service like a butler.

Thanks for the suggestions, @dehene and @sergio especially. I ended up going with Kale (kale.money) 🥬
