First sales this week!

Still lots more ahead but it felt great to have people responding positively and buying. As noted in my launch post , I don't know anything about sales/marketing but I do know people like to hear new ideas and receive some valuable offer.

So I've been reaching out to EVERYONE I think would be interested. Naturally, I've encountered a few folks who don't like getting "cold emailed" but overall the response has been positive and supportive!

Tools I'm using:

Lessons learned:

  • Don't be afraid to cold email, provided you have something of value to that person/company
  • "Qualify" who you reach out to and ask if they are interested

What I'm still learning:

  • How much to say on the initial outreach! Some of my first messages have been big walls of text with multiple links others have been shorter and sweeter. Since most of my emails are hand written (with some parameterization), I'm not tracking which work better/worse.

What is your experience with initial cold email outreach?
