OmniMoney

Get a holistic view of your finances

Added two API endpoints to get all transactions and a specific transaction for

Just finished giving the home page a much needed facelift!

The home page hasn't been sitting right with me for awhile now. I finally realized it's because it just wasn't insightful and almost felt like a waste of space.

Now, there's way more helpful info. Account balances have been moved to the right along with a list of upcoming transactions. The main focus as soon as you open the app is spending by category with indicators of how much you've spent or earned (green), how much is allocated towards upcoming transactions (yellow), and if you've gone over budget (red).

One of the healthy habits I want the app to promote is checking your most recent transactions and spending power every day. To support this, you can now see your quick review streak at the top. The goal here is to incentivize people to make quick review a part of their daily practice.

If anyone here wants to help me test this app out, sign up here (https://omnimoney.app) and send me a note so that I can bump you up the waiting list.

New widget for is now done!

I decided to keep the app purely web based for the immediate future. However, I do want users to be able to quickly access their data on the go.

I’m going to use the app’s API to build some widget examples that I can share with users for them to use on their devices. Today, I put together the code to view your remaining spending power on your Home Screen so that you easily know how much you can spend.

Major app and landing page update for

I moved the landing page over to UnicornPlatform which has an awesome student discount deal and platform.

Also now, you can add scheduled transactions! I added this feature because I not only need to budget for the expenses that happened in the past, but also planned expenses in the future (rent, phone bill, etc.). Now there’s one place you can keep track of all upcoming bills and one time payments, and you can quickly add money to your envelope to cover upcoming expenses.

Check it out! Https://OmniMoney.app

Plaid implementation is finally done!

Now that I'm approved for Plaid, users can now auto import their transactions into OmniMoney.

New landing page for is now done!

I used MakerWidget for the widget in the lower left and Versoly to build the site. All roasts, feedback, and sign ups are welcome!

Finally figured out how to make a command panel powered by keyboard shortcuts for

From here, users will be able to quickly go to pages, or perform tasks (e.g. switching themes, changing password, managing subscription, etc.)

Official launch date for is set

No matter how it looks, I’m releasing the app to the public on June 24th 🤞🏾

Starting over

This semester at school was hectic, so I had to put building on pause. Now that I can get back to OmniMoney, I realize that I want a do over. So here's to day 1. Log in page is done.

Quick Review is now DONE!

This was, by far, the hardest feature 😫. Now, a user can categorize any new transactions, go through scheduled transactions to see if any of them has been paid, and review their spending power (which is the max amount of money they can spend this month based on their budget). Also, inspired by @sergio, I added a streak feature too.

The point of this is to help the user build a healthy financial habit of reviewing new transactions and seeing how much they can spend on a daily basis.

Haha awesome :D

Guess who has a text chat bot!!

I’ll add some more commands in the future, but for now, these two will do.

BTW, I used Twilio’s Autopilot for the backend of the bot.

Implemented scheduled transactions for

Now, users can keep track of their bills and upcoming payments 😊

My landing page for is now legit!

I finally connected my Webflow site to my domain -> https://omnimoney.app

I did my first user interview for !

It was affirming to hear how keys items on their wishlist were already in scope for the app. One thing I’ll do a bit differently next time is have an end-goal for the conversation and a set list of questions that help me achieve that goal. Honestly, I was winging it this time 😅

Nice job! Just curious: What was the format for the user interview? Zoom, a good old-fashioned phone call, etc etc? I really need to do more of these.

It was over zoom. I just asked them about what budgeting apps they currently use, what improvements would they like to see, and how they feel about their current financial routines. It was definitely more of a conversation than an interview.

Started working on “Quick Review” feature

Lately, I’ve been doing some thinking on what healthy habits I want my app to help users do. I think I might have landed on something 🤔

Did some market research and competitive analysis for

No coding today. Instead, I wanted to take some time to figure out how my app fits in the market and how I might want to structure pricing.

Finished the landing page for

You can check it out here -> https://omnimoney.webflow.io.

Worked on the landing page for

I decided to build out my landing page using Webflow. Hopefully I can get it finished tomorrow so that I can “launch” on Monday.

Redesign plan page

I made some changes, but I'm still not in love with it yet. Oh well, let's see if I get some inspiration over the next few days.

BTW - My app uses the envelope method, so any unallocated cash from the first sync or from previous months gets rolled over to the next month
