The only difference between ordinary and extraordinary is just that little "extra".

Evernote analysis

Evernote has a lot of powerful features (especially in regards to search), integrations, advanced (word doc-esque) editing, etc. It is on the pricier side of note taking apps and is much more enterprisey than I want Newton to be.

Bear analysis

I recently made the move from Day One to Bear and I have to say the UI and tagging system are amazing! Bear is so minimal and beautiful. I love the markdown but wish it would show the actual render (e.g. bold hey instead of hey) and lacks some features like tables. This is definitely my inspiration for this project and if their devs were more responsive to their users.

Day One analysis

Day One is great! It is the application I used for my note taking for the past two years but find it limiting in my formatting. For the life of me I don't understand why there are only 3 header styles!

OneNote analysis

Similar to Evernote, OneNote is feature rich and although its UI is better than Evernote, I think there is too much going on and I don't love the idea of being tied into the Microsoft ecosystem.
