do you like the idea of sharing some of your bookmarks public?

I have to idea and decided to make a page on my portfolio site where I can display my recently bookmarked items so that it can be helpful to someone who is looking for something on the web And can have the links and save the time 😊

What are your thoughts?

I think this is great, i have tons of bookmarks but how can i categorize it manually if i accidentally add my personal stuffs in there. I'm sure i will freak out. Haha.

But i use chrome browser bookmark and is currently private. If you can make something easily to link publicly i think that is great idea. Then i can just use my own custom domain and redirect the link to your link.

The challenge here i think is more for the ui/ux. Usually is horizontal looking and drop down when i hover the categorized folders of my bookmark in my chrome browser.

@fajarsiddiq yes the main problems are

  • how we control our bookmarking ( sometimes we never get back to some bookmarks ).
  • managing private and public bookmarks is also an issue
  • sometimes you definitely need to access your bookmark that are not private and u realise that they live in browser 😂

I use OneTab for this purpose, it's not bookmarking, but an easy way to share a list of useful links.

Especially useful when you research some topic, so these links are organised by some project or tech.

Agree with @fajarsiddiq, accidentally adding personal links would freak me out, I check OneTab list 2-3 times before sharing it :)

There is an app that does that -> bkmark.io

It handles bookmarks and also supports public collections.

To share my bookmarks across my devices, I use http://sharetxt.live.

It is simple and fast to use. I just visit the website on both devices and paste the bookmark. That's it.

@rexthony it's great idea but now since Google Chrome had qr generator that lets you open the url..

But here my question is to share bookmarks!
