A retweet for a retweet! (giveaway)

Hi everyone, would anyone like to share some promotion?

I am trying to get sign-ups for my community project webwide.io.

Twitter seems to be working well, I am just 35 sign-ups away but struggling to get there. Keen to launch this weekend!

I have 100 engaged new followers on that account and 1250 on my main (adam_greenough).

Would anybody like to get a retweet in exchange for one? The tweet I am sharing is here: [https://twitter.com/webwideio/status/1179803841472221187](https://twitter.com/webwideio/status/1179803841472221187 )

There's actually a Β£10 Steam gift card up for grabs as a prize draw from sharers also! Terms in the thread.

Let me know if you can share and what you'd like me to share in return (legit friendly legal nice etc. things only please!)

Many thanks!

Fajar Siddiq

Oh just a a steam gift card, is this your product? What does it do?

Hey that was an extra bit of fun for some of my community sharing! :)

I am building https://webwide.io/ which is a more 'traditional' style discussion board community for modern web designers, developers and makers. The alternatives in this space for people that enjoy this format are slim and those that do exist have been left to die without much community engagement.

Community management is a passion of mine and I have many fond memories of using forums over the years.

Advantages over Reddit/HN/Facebook/Twitter are…

  • Less ephemeral conversations
  • More personal (than reddit/HN) with more engaging profiles and community awards
  • Visibility is not based on popularity of the person as it is on Twitter
  • Visibility is not based on popularity of the topic, lots of interesting discussion is never seen on Reddit/HN because some people are not fans. More divided topic boards mean people that are interested in niche topics have space to discuss this while still getting visibility.
  • No threaded comments like Reddit/HN means that discussions remain more on-topic and don't break down in to off-topic mini sub threads which usually just end up being bickering.

Some people might see this as disadvantages but so far the feedback has been there is an audience for going back in time a bit for a more traditional community experience! Fingers crossed. :)

Not a huge fan of asking for retweets, but I'll give it a pass as it's a giveaway. ;)

I'm up for it! Have retweeted (also followed your accounts) from @DowntimeMonkey - 1288 followers at minute. Can you retweet my pinned Tweet @DowntimeMonkey - I'm pretty big on follow back and retweeting when it works both ways.
