Would you share 1% of revenue with charities?
I'm working on Help Jar (https://helpjar.org), a platform to automate charitable contributions for your business. You choose to pledge between 0.1 to 5% of revenue to causes you care about, we'll handle the rest.
You can choose to donate to climate change prevention, disaster relief efforts, open source software support, wildlife conservation and much more.
Interested to hear from fellow makers if this is something interesting.
I'd be interested in something like this and actually plan on doing so in the future 😁
Some areas you may want to look deeper into:
- international users, who're interested to donate to causes in their own country, and the different legal stuff that exists in other countries for these sorts of things
- cross-border transfer of funds, and how that would work and/or impact you in terms of regulations and financial controls
- a "badge of honor" widget that the user could easily incorporate to their site, to show how much they've contributed
There's probably more, but you get the idea..
@FaizMetronome great points Faiz. Am definitely engaged on the legal side of things. I'll be grouping organisations/charities by region, type and more so people can make more informed decisions.
A badge of honour is a great idea, I was already thinking of badges for their checkout, but I think a widget that pops up would be nice too.
great work for the crowd-funding platform. Any future plans you are doing this for an app?
