What communities are you part of?

I'm really interested in how people with the same mindset find themselves online. How do you find people like you? Are they in subreddits, Facebook, WhatsApp or what other platform or community?

IndieStack – it's paid but not expensive. The place is really supportive and its Discord is more active with 100 members than many larger communities I've tried before.

Also, some Mac developer communities where many app-building indies are.

I am the opposite, putting myself out there really isn't something that comes natural to me but am giving it a go.

I have signed up to a lot but often feel let down that there isn't all that much interaction between people instead everyone is in their own little box and occasionally people dip in but never fully get involved.

Dribbble is notorious for it, it's always already successful people/companies patting other successful people/companies on the back. It bothers me so much as it has potential to be the supportive and welcoming place like I know it can be.

That being said, there are a few good examples like dev.to, ProductHunt and IndieHackers (but have never posted there).
