Any Things 3 users here on Makerlog?
Does anyone here use Things 3 for tasks? If so, do you have scripts, workflows, etc. for adding tasks to Makerlog at the end of the day?
If I made one, would anyone else use it? (If so, I’ll try to keep the code nicer :) )
Hi! Yes I love things! But I don't have a script like that. I think I would use it, but maybe only for certain projects / areas. For example: I would log the tasks for my side project to Makerlog but not personal things like watering the plants. Currently my side project is it's own area.
Thanks, Roel! That’s a good point, I’ll want mine to only log certain areas, projects, and/or tags. I’m still debating whether to build it for iOS or Mac (or both). Would you use one over the other?
@roel Alright, I'm starting work on the tool. By the way, I looked at your profile and your hippo app—what a great idea! I use a note on my phone right now to write basic contact info (and sometimes just writing down someone's name after meeting them is enough to help set it in my long-term memory). I think this app could be quite useful.
@roel, You'll never believe what just happened. My wife asked me what year my parents were born, and I glanced over at her phone and said "Is that Hippo?!"
We haven't talked about it at all, and out of the blue just a few days after I discovered it via your profile here, she found it! Today she was meeting with some friends and realized she wanted an app like this, searched online, said yours looked the cutest, and downloaded it! Nice work!
@roel I certainly will! She's already mentioned it again a couple times since then :) btw, the Things 3 --> Makerlog is coming along. For a workable version, I just need to get a better deployment method so my api keys aren't accidentally transferred when I share the file :) I know what to do, more or less, just need to to write and test it.
