Need some naming advice for a rebranding

So, long story short, I'm looking to rebrand (and rename) my small business (web design & development studio).

Its current name doesn't really match my personality and the overall style I'm trying to create. I live in a Hanseatic town with deep medieval roots, and since I'm looking to attract more local clients, I really want to use some of those influences for this rebranding.

Some keywords: craftsman/tradesman, workshop, handcrafted, modern twist. The current name for my business is Media Boutique. It's the 'boutique' part I'm mostly done with.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

I was thinking something along the lines of '(something) Mediaworks' (as in metalworks, stoneworks, ironworks, etc.).

Also, renaming to (the) Media Workshop (or anything with 'workshop' basically) is not a good idea, since workshops are mainly known for their training purposes here in the Netherlands.

That's a great idea. Why not also do that with the name itself, like maybe using a noun to do with a specific place within your town? For example, the Dutch town of Dokkum has some of the oldest fortification bulwarks in all of Netherlands, so if you lived there it might be cool to use a local name for one of the bulwarks.

Good idea, thanks! The thing is, most of the town-related names are already used an re-used by a lot of local businesses here, so I didn't really want to go that same route. But who knows, maybe I'll find something that does sound good and isn't used that much.

Also, since it's a web business, having a name that can be easily pronounced in English is a plus.

Just thinking you could play around with 'media' and 'medieval' … "media-val"? ok bad example but you get my drift.

Some ideas:

  • WebFactory
  • Studios
  • Haus
  • Labs , eg. Medieval Labs??
  • Founderland
  • Havyard Design
  • ArsDigita
  • Studio
  • Webworks
  • Codecreative

hope that inspires some ideas!

Thanks for taking the time to share your ideas! I'm thinking of either going for something like Studio or Mediaworks/Webworks

Now to find the right part… :)
