Consider Getting an Apple Developer Account

I am using React-Native. I was wondering if for my product launch I should get an Apple Developer account and build an IOS app, or if I should launch only with android and do ios later on.

I would try to launch on both or start with iOS only. Think you’d get more traction with both or starting with iOS. Know it’s counter since androids a massive OS and following

@leonhitchens but doesn't android have a bigger market share than iOS? Why would you go iOS only?

@bjoern_rave From my understanding, iOS users are more likely to be willing to pay than Android users. First, Android does not require to connect a credit card to your account, next, Android users often come from low-income countries and for them even 5€/month is a huge price tag, so they would rather use pirated apps on cheap rooted Android phones. @zsergo thanks for that info. Yes, I guess I will get a developer account then. Just why does apple have to charge so much for it :D

It depends on the app of course. Considering your app is pretty much ready for iOS by being in React Native, $99 is a small price to pay to get listed.

It's also to do with your users, and who/where they are. My app (30 Wears) was shared several times by Instagram influencers. It would have been quite annoying to lose out on all those users just due to their phone's OS!

@fiiv yeah, those are valid points. I will get the developer account and release it on iOS as well, so everyone can use it :)
