For comments: Upvotes or emoji reactions?
Hi all. I'm currently building a commenting system and I want to add some sort of reaction feature.
I'm stuck between the two main options of upvotes/likes (Indie Hackers, Product Hunt) and emoji reactions (GitHub, Slack).
Both seem to have their benefits and I'm finding it difficult to choose which to implement. The idea would be to leave a quick reaction to a single comment, to add a layer of interaction outside of replying.
What do you like to use when posting or reading comments? What do you see as benefits/drawbacks for each option?
