How do you deal with low self-esteem days?

I've touched this topic on Twitter before, but I'm especially curious about other makers.

I'm progressing on the product I am currently building which is nice. However, due to unrelated circumstances, my self-esteem is currently very low and I have a lot of doubts.

Especially, I'm doubting whether I should progress with this and other products or just drop then. I doubt that I'll be able to sell them, I'm starting to think this might just be resources wasted.

I assume this will pass, it always had in the past. But right now it is very hard for me to focus on anything, as I fail to see the point of focusing.

Can you share your experience with this feeling and how do you cope?

First of all, I am sending you positivity. Whatever it is disturbing you or stopping you may get resolved quickly.

There have been times when I too had faced such problems. Like I had taken a domain for my blog but after that, I was unable to write a single blog due to some personal issues. But through some reading and spiritual books, I finally understood that procrastination is the nature of our mind.

To cope up with this, I create small goals; daily goals for my work rather than a monthly goal or final goal. I only focus on what I have to do today, in this hour. I ask myself, am I enjoying what I am doing? Honestly, it has helped me complete many important tasks and goals. I now believe that having a successful career and life is a by-product of enjoying your work in the present.

I now working on my website that I am going to soon launch it.

Thank you very much for your concern!

I'm not sure if goals will work when I feel like most of the things I do doesn't matter.

I agree that reading and learning can help us at least recognize the problem earlier and seek help. A few years back, I didn't have that knowledge!

I might take a break from building and try to sort out whatever is causing these esteem issues. Once I feel better, I can get back to shipping like a boss!

Here's a tip: Write I AM PIOTR GACZKOWSKI on a sheet of paper and pin it to the wall.

Every time you feel stuck, low, full of doubt… look up at the words and remember who you are, my friend.

Low self-esteem days happen too often for me, too often for comfort.

Sometimes I feel like I'm not cut out for what I'm doing, like I will fail miserably.

How do I cope? I build. I continue. I persevere -- no matter what. I build through the pain because I know it's temporary, and because I'm doing something I'm proud of.

Build something you're proud of -- that's the best antidote. I know that tomorrow I will wake up on a productivity high, and all those negative thoughts will be gone. What will remain is the great work I did the day before.

Heads up high. Take breaks often too.

Self doubt is just a part of the game, in this business. I have it to varying degrees just about every day. But more important than anything is the knowledge that (for me) there is no option but to push on. I'll take the fear and self doubt of entrepreneurship over the slog of working a 9-to-5 any day. But on those days that it becomes a little too much, I realize that's my cue to take a step back and take a break for a little while. Because burnout can derail you very quickly.
