Why Makerlog is using Telegram for community chat?

I am wondering this because I want to create a community chat for my own project and wonder why Makerlog made this choice of using Telegram and not other platforms like Slack, Whatsapp or something else.

There are many Reasons why

  1. Whatsapp Shows the Phone Number of the People you are in a Chat in, They have a 250 People limit, Which isn;t Enough, As of now there re 500+ Members of Makerlog Telegram, 350 + Active Members.

  2. Slack isn't Ideal, Slack is Mostly for Remote work, and Maker's Kickthen Already Exists, for Makers to Talk, So It deoesn't seem Ideal.
