Mercilessly roast my landing page please!

Landing page here: Meeting Canary

Would love to hear what you think of it! Copy, design, marketing, anything else you can think of!

Thanks in advance. 😘

Overall - great! Love the colors and the layout. However, as I was scrolling down - I got a cognitive dissonance in terms of the design. The page starts with a doodle of a bird and uses almost handwritten underlines, uses bright playful orange color for accent. And all this playful mood suddenly stumbles upon a photo of real people in a boring meeting. To me it was a bit unexpected and out of the overall style. But perhaps it's only a subjective perception, don't know.

Hello, Here's a quick review from me in regards to your first paragraph. You did ask for us to roast it so here goes!

The design on a whole has a clear structure block though I think stronger differentiation could be added to perhaps emphasizing certain features to lead user's eyes.

But I think the key thing I will look at is the copywriting.

Personally, for me, I think words like "Awesome", "Elegant" don't add much meaning to the sentences in terms of helping to understand what is it trying to do.

I'll break down my thought process for just the first one.

Awesome notes everyone will appreciate Use Meeting Canary's powerful notes dashboard to take elegant notes. Automatically send them to all attendees after. Store them in the cloud, or download them as PDFs.

  • I think words like "Awesome', "Elegant" don't add much to the context of this sentence.

Awesome - What does that really mean? How does the app make my notes awesome? Perhaps it's better to be more straight to the point. Perhaps something like "Concise/Clear/Simplified notes everyone will appreciate reading" (A Painpoint for your customer?)

Elegant - Again, what do you mean by elegant notes? How exactly does the app help make your notes elegant? Do you mean I just need to write the notes however I want, and the app will reformat them for me in a clear structured way that is easy to read?

Elegant in typography, formatting, or the contents of the notes being taken? The screenshots on the right. Is that the meaning of elegant? It doesn't have that feel at this moment. So It's not clear how exactly does the app adds value to the poorly structured written notes by me.

If I am the manager, the question I would ask myself is.. what exactly is the pain point of writing notes? And that's what should be written in this first point)

This is just my two cents worth. Hope that helps! :)

@jasontxf thank you so much, this is great! Copywriting is a tough nut to crack, I really appreciate your feedback on it.

Loved the idea & playful design, I want to use start using it tomorrow!

Improvements/fixes in mobile view -

  • Add images
  • Microsoft google apple logo can be aligned in a single row (will look better)
  • Login page is work in progress I think

Only thing I was rooting for but could not find was any detail or hint about is integrations i.e. slack, ToDoist, Trello etc. I'd suggest to add a features roadmap section to invoke promise for early adopters.

  • In the welcome email on joining beta list, logo link is broken
