How makers stay productive

I like the idea, but I'm not your target audience, because I don't blog.

Are you planning to get money from ads?

Hi Jackson, congrats on building your MVP and sharing it with us!

You compare your product to producthunt, but I think you are closer to reddit, digg, hackernews and similar sites.

I believe where producthunt stands out is, that there are Hunters, who can hunt your product. This is already the first step of the approval, if the hunter finds it useful/good, it would go public, then the public decides if they will like it or if it sinks.

If anyone would have the capability to post any/all of their content, it would get quickly overcrowded. PH started as a newsletter for close circle of Ryan's friends, then slowly expanded, until it was made into a website. Also a person can write a blogpost per day, but you won't build a product every day.

Here is a thought (thinking out loud, warning - it might be stupid :) How about turning it around and instead of hunting blog posts, hunt bloggers? There would be a limit on how many hunted bloggers there can be a day (e.g. 10), each day of the week could highlight different genres - e.g. tech, arts,… weekends could be mixed, or mixed all the time.

You can then introduce a product similar to Ship in PH, where the bloggers will kick off with small writing pieces, trying to attract some audience prior to their "launch".

Then connect it with newsletter for each day, who are the top hunted bloggers.

Add then paid courses for becoming great blogger, add links to resources, etc…

:) Sorry, got carried away a bit. You might want to look at other niches that PH tried to get into, e.g. books, podcasts, games, which I don't think are that popular.
