Forum Saas - Something like Disqus for forums

Does anyone have experience using something similar to disqus but for a forum (or discussion board like makerlog)? I've seen a few but nothing stood out and I'd like some opinions. Thanks in advance.

If you're specifically after a SaaS, Discourse or Vanilla both offer hosted serviced options.

I mentioned these were expensive options without realizing they had free self hosting options. Thanks for the recommendations!

I think myBB also works just fine, Makerlog's was coded from scratch so it's particularly limited - but it does its purpose pretty well.

Makerlogs is quite nice, and its simplicity is also its strength in a way. That's initially when it looked it discourse and vanilla, I was imagining something more lightweight.

Flarum was definitely one I was interested in, as well as the very similar misago (https://misago-project.org)

Hi Cody, my product is trying to solve similar problem. You can check out www.setopic.com. Setopic is basically an online community platform. You can create your own community/forum for your product. But it's still not ready on production. Still under active development :)
