π¨βπ» Makers, where do you scribble?
As a maker, we often scribble a lot of things. Be it an idea, some todos, any link we found on the internet, or maybe a code snippet.
Most of the time I use sublime text to scribble things.
What do you use to scribble something? βοΈ
Welcome to Makerlog, Ashish!
I scribble on a fantastic bullet notebook I have. It's the Essentials Dot Grid Matrix notebook.
Same here - a dot grid notebook I bought long ago is my friend. I don't follow the Bullet Journal method though - just no organization at all. I've begun using it for almost all writing - notes, checklist for the day, etc.
The closest I've come to organizing it is to use the notebook to summarize the "Traction" book that I'm currently reading. I put up photos of the notes on a blog post. Not completed yet. I'm updating the post with more photos as I progress through the book.
Thanks a lot Sergio.
A notebook is an absolute pleasure to scribble things. Nothing beats that.
I've gone from plain text file on Dropbox to Evernote to Notion.
- Currently on Notion for permanent notes
- And I also write things down in a physical notebook I keep on my table
The oldest I've maintained is an "ideas" file (7yrs old I think). Everytime I have an idea, I add it there.
What I've come to realize is that for both note-taking and TODO lists, the tool is not the problem. The process is. Reviewing/checking the todo list frequently is more important than the tool. Similar applies to note taking.
I loved your ideas file. :D
Akash, what made you to move from plain text file to Dropbox to Evernote to Notion?
@LiveAshish I used to write in markdown. So moved to Evernote to be able to have an app that I can edit notes on the phone. And when I heard of Notion I moved there because again I can go back to markdown + still have an app I can use to edit.
From what I've noticed, I have two kinds of storage:
- Temporary notes & logging - Physical notebook
- Permanent/organized notes - Notion or as a Blog post
