🔥 Roast my Agency Landing Page + Website

Ladies & Gentlement of Makerlog! Please provide the severest of roasts for a thing that I just shipped. I won't tell much because I want to know what is unclear and/or stupid. I am ready to have this destroyed. Gracias.

Landing: http://optemization.com Website: http://optemization.com/home

Seems like you have a good idea, but I'd put more content on the landing page about what it is and why it exists or what it offers instead of just linking the Notion site (Notion is kinda slow)

hey syed! thanks so much for the suggestion! I agree on that. I kinda aimed for something loft/aspirational to pique the interest and invite the user over to the Notion page. yah… speed is an issue. i hope to switch it when the apis come. i really love the automatic sync with my crm in projects, customers and tools to give that up…

Your TLS (SSL) certificate is broken. The cert is issued for Rebrandly and not your domain.

yo mike! thanks for flag! i have no idea how to fix that…do you have any tips? Rebrandly is connected to my carrd and then each notion page is linked with rebrandly…not ideal but that's how i hacked around the analytics.

@optemization If I understand what you're doing, you've set the domain to resolve to Rebrandly. This then re-directs to your carrd site at optemization.carrd.co, right?

You probably want your domain to be resolving to Carrd, since that's where your site is. Use a second domain to use for Rebrandly links. Or indeed create a subdomain like link.optemization.com or WHATEVER.optemization.com something and set that to resolve to Rebrandly.

That would be my advice. If you really want to use Notion documents as pages, try reading up on this:

  1. I think the cover image is very dark. I can see their tools but it doesn't grab me
  2. Your subscribe button has no color so the reader will pass all over it.
  3. It's unclear what your value proposition is to be honest.

hey pete!

  1. great call — thanks for that. yeah it doesn't reflect well on the social thumbnail, so in the future i will try to always link the carrd landing page first.
  2. great point! i made it black…idk if that makes it better though lol…what do you think?
  3. excellent feedback…what do you think it is? i wanna work from you did understand to fix this.

@optemization 2. no, need to make it something bright that catches the eye - orange, green or red or something :)

  1. I know in general but I think you need to be more specific.

Oh shit this is the Notion one-pager I saw on Twitter… rest assured my jaw dropped when I saw it!

Fantastic work and very clever to design it on Notion - sure, it's definitely not as professional, but it's better than most sites out there - and even optimized for mobile (!!!)

Pros: nice icons, intersting and useful service, automation is killer, great links i'm going to check out Cons: site is a bit slow to load, i would lose the welcome/intro page and go straign to the content

Overall: 4.5 stars out of 5 for a excellent idea and only minor cons

@optemization in reply to your question my gut is it's a barrier but i'm not an expert on subject- maybe try split testing and see how it goes?
