What keywords should I use for a Google Ads campaign for #LaunchAfrica?

I want to target people looking for startup and tech jobs (or companies who need to post job vacancies) in the most popular countries in Africa for such jobs.

So I have added these keywords: africa jobs, jobs south africa, startups africa, jobs egypt, jobs ghana, jobs kenya, jobs nigeria, tech jobs africa, startup jobs africa.

For locations I have selected: Show ad to people interested in your products or services, in Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, uganda, rwanda, south africa, egypt, senegal.

Anyone have marketing experience who can advice if thats good or what I could improve?

One question I have: If I target those countries I mentioned, then do I still need the keywords I have with the country in them? e.g. "Jobs Ghana"?

Those aren't good keywords. They are too generic. You'll get traffic looking for regular jobs, like baby sitters or people willing to be cashiers at fast-food restaurants.

You should be including phrases related to start-up and technology, and making them required with a +. You can start by including positions or technologies.

examples +"React native" jobs +javascript jobs +"python" job openings

This will save you from wasting tons of $$.

If you are targeting by location you don't need to include the location in the keyword, as its already implied. But, if you want your click-thru rate and conversion rate to be higher, you should include the City and State/Province of the person searching in the ad copy, and on your landing page. However, this kind of optimization can come later.

Because job boards are essentially 2 sided marketplaces, you also need to think about how you will attract businesses who need these roles filled. So you'll need another ad group that targets decision-makers. (and you should have a dedicated landing page for them as well, which captures their email address to market to them later)

examples +hire +"react native" developer +hire +javascript post +javascript jobs +javascript job board

@strange_quirks odd. Are you using Google ads on mobile or are you on the desktop site? Definitely should be able to do this as it is a core feature.
