Covid related product and possible pivots

Hi peeps,

As most know, I've been building Covisitor - Visitor registration; simple, fast and focused on privacy.

For the near future, I don't see countries like mine (The Netherlands) removing the duty to register who's visiting. However, I do want to prepare for a pivot. There's a few ways I can go about this.

I've been thinking about where to pivot to; Maybe something like gamifying visits to venues or pivoting towards the B2B space. (Corporations receiving visitors, whereas now I'm handling individuals visiting restaurants/bars/museums/etc).

What's your take? Any cool ideas?

I'm open to your suggestions and spinning up a new version of Covisitor

Cheers, Wouter

A couple of thoughts:

  1. Privacy is definitely going to be a big concern - you need to find a way to convince users that their movement data will not be disclosed to other parties. And you need to make sure your data is secure!

  2. These Covid movement apps (I'm sure each country has their own) all pretty much work like Foursquare checkins :) So maybe you can look at how Foursquare evolved from its beginnings to where it's at now, and look at the different gamification aspects they introduced over time. Could be some nuggets that you can implement in your own app.

@FaizMetronome Thanks!

From the start I wanted to double down on the privacy part. However, after developing further I noticed my target audience doesn't really care. They just want to obey the new 'rules' - The privacy concerns mostly come from visitors visiting venues using SaaS's like mine.

The Foursquare tip is a good thing to check out! Never really understood why they became so big (in the US(?)).
