Makerlog Menubar feedback thread!! ⚡️

Hey everyone!!! For the last few days, I've been working on something – a menubar app for Makerlog! I'd love to hear your feedback below, tell me what you'd like and I might add it. Trying to keep it nice and minimal though 😄

You can see a few of the cool features here.

Makerlog Menubar

I'd say a feature to show pending tasks (a.k.a this yellow dots), make one as in progress and mark it as done would be my biggest request. That's the thing that still makes me visit the website when I'm working

Very cool idea, and nicely done! 👏 My only feedback would be that it's GIIIIAAAANNTTT haha especially on larger displays, it almost feels completely separate from the menu bar itself, in an odd limbo between a full app and a menu bar app. I really like Day One's implementation with their quick entry dropdown from the menu bar, perhaps some ideas could be taken from that. Hmm. I have a screenshot of it but I don't think I can attach images to posts here yet. Droplr link: https://d.pr/free/i/YP0QSW

@Booligoosh - quitting with right click would be awesome!

@victor - you can close with cmd+q

Can you replicate the dropdown options selection for the website too. I am finding this cmd+d thing really confusing. Not only do i forget to use it, it doesn't show up on my feed and it's added cognitive load for users to have to toggle through or shortcut through their status options. OT be honest keeping it simple with just one status option will improve usability 100x - most important rule of UX "Don't make me think" and this feature is making me constantly think between "to do, doing and done" because then I have to change the langauge of my post as well to match the tense… just a thought.
