We're launching on ProductHunt on Monday. Got any tips?

Time to launch on ProductHunt, right?
We decided to do this on Monday. Any tips to keep in mind before we launch?
What to do and what to avoid?
I'm feeling so excited to finally enter the "Those Who Ship" club :D
The most important thing to remember is that the launch isn't all important - if it goes well it's a bonus but if it doesn't don't sweat it.
There are products that flop the launch and then turn out really profitable long-term and others that get lots of attention at launch but don't stand the test of time.
I also find that PH users often just want to have a look at a product but don't necessarily go on to use it - in the past I've received a lot of sign-ups from PH that didn't really go anywhere but users that found products through search have gone on to become paying customers.
I launched on Product Hunt last weekend. It's quite the competition. I came in 9th place, but the best part was just telling everyone I know about it. Getting over that barrier where I felt comfortable telling anyone on the internet without hesitation or bias to get genuine first impressions.
Reviews/comments determine your place on the home screen. Someone with 50 upvotes and 3 reviews will be under someone with 49 upvotes and 5 reviews.
The products with the most upvotes will still be in the top 5 of Product Hunt products of the day.
Overall, have fun. Prioritize genuine engagement over upvotes, comments, etc.
Consider putting the Product Hunt badge on your site. And congrats on shipping!!!
@doomhamer We launched a few months ago and it turned out pretty well. Here are our learnings and insights https://blog.typestudio.co/product-hunt-learnings/
We're live: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/songcorder . Let's see what happens :D
I don't agree with all of the strategies, but this post by Josh Fechter has a lot of advice on pre-launch and day-of. A lot of it revolves around building a strong audience months beforehand via Facebook Messenger. (Apparently the open and click-through rates are amazing.) Then chasing in on that for the day of the launch.
Thanks. I don't use Facebook so this strategy is not feasible. I will read the article anyway, hope I can find something for myself :)
