Question for .app domain users
What subdomain do you use for hosting the actual application? app.domain.app is too much.
hq.domain.app? use.domain.app?
hq or use is good, the other one I like sometimes is home.domain.app also been known to use the.domain.app or get.domain.app or workspace.domain.app
If it's something more focused on the product though could use that. like photo.domain.app if it was for managing photos.
So URL structure is one of the two biggest things I spend time thinking about when building something, outside of the app itself of course.
My general preference is to have my
as the subdomain. For example with Primcloud, while it is a dotcom, it sounds better when you go to my.primcloud.com
to manage your stuff.
In the case of an app, it sounds even better reading the url, my.foobar.app
my
sounds amazing, I'll definitely use it for one of the projects.
In the past, I've used www.
for .app
domains, but for the latest project went with James's suggestion re project-related subdomain - now.actionthis.app
.
Agree re URL structure - .app
domains were driving me crazy because of it.
I've run a poll on twitter with the same question and got many comments on why not just domain.app
. I'd love to use it, but it comes with some costs.
domain.app
works for a marketing website if it's a native app, not for SaaS.
