Disqus alternatives / Commenting engines
I'm currently researching about commenting engines for use on my frontend (Nuxt). Not a fan of Disqus due to clunky UI and login. Anyone know any good alternatives?
I think the one true king is https://commento.io/
@sunglassesface oh very nice. Hmm that pricing though…would love to try it out for my MVP but hard to justify the cost when I don't even know if the product will fly
@sunglassesface oh wait, it is free. The pricing is only for the hosted cloud version, right?
@jasonleow I checked on this before. Love the product but yea the pricing is stopping me as I'm building MVP.
Where did you see it's free or that the pricing is for the hosted cloud version?
Can't seem to find that info.
Isso is probably the most popular self-hosted one.
@jasonleow actually, no, I was researching plugins to add comments to our blog, settled down on Isso but then decided not to have any comments. :D

@waptik fascinating. But the docs are almost non-existent? Or did I miss something?
@jasonleow docs can be found here https://fastfeedback.io/docs. You can either pull data from their api or use the widget to display comments.
@waptik thank you! It's not all that clear - is it free for 1 site, but $10/m for unlimited sites?
@jasonleow It's not free for 1 site. It's only "free to sign up and leave a feedback and $10/month for unlimited sites", according to https://fastfeedback.io/pricing. But you can test it out during the trial period after linking your account with stripe. You can cancel before trial ends if you are not satisfied. you can also setup an instance of your own but i don't recommend it.
@waptik cool thanks for explaining! So how has the experience of using it been for you so far? What's the pros and cons compared to other comment engines?
@jasonleow Sure, no problem! Unfortunately i haven't used it yet. I don't have any website in production yet but i have plans of using when needed. I was mentioning an alternative. Give the trial a try and see how it goes!
