What are some product/biz ideas you've come up with that you'd like to see made?
Got any ideas that you came up with and would like to see made and not particularly by you?
Drop them here and let the community know. Maybe someone will pick something up or spark an even better idea.
SAAS to run attention based psych experiments online.
With COVID, a lot of institutions are looking to move some of their research online. Currently there are no good ways to do this.
Current options:
https://github.com/jspsych/jsPsych - but requires researches to write JS. Also seems buggy. And you still need someone to host it. Currently https://www.cognition.run does hosting.
https://www.millisecond.com - requires a plugin and doesn't work on all computers. Can't create new experiments.
https://testmybrain.org - Can't create new experiments
IDEA
Make an easy to use UI for researchers to create new experiments.
Collect and present the data
Have a bank of existing tests that they can choose from.
Might want to use web assembly for parts of this because a lot of the tests are based on reaction time, so speed is a factor.
On of the recent Indie Hackers podcast, Courtland was saying he wrote a bot that looks through all the Indiehacker twitters and looks for which links were shared the most, had most engagement and it sends him an email with the top 10 links.
I think I would use something like that, like a tweet highlights.
That way I can use twitter to stay current without getting sucked in.
@praveenperera Yes! I also thought about this when I was listening. Such a cool idea.
@praveenperera That is a really cool idea. I think Mailbrew guys have something like it as the newsletter I get from them which I think is almost automated. I mean sometimes it doesn't even include anything related to Entrepreneurship but it includes popular makers due to the likes or retweets they get on their post.
- Self-hosted Gumroad
- Twitter tool to watch conversations related to your problem space and find leads
- Headless forum
- Amazon S3 but simpler and cleaner
@gabriel4649 +1 for a better S3. In the end, we all just want batteries-included file management that works, without CORS issues, a CDN, and good caching defaults.
Got the idea made from a team of tech guys in the company. A motion interactive jump game to help you stay active throughout the day. What do you think about it? Can share the link if anyone is interested :)
I have always wanted a simple app where you can track important things related to certain dates /times. (Essentially a calendar, but I don't want it on my primary calendar).
So like, "The Christmas decorations are located in three green bins, in the top right corner of the garage. - Remind me on Dec. 10th"
Or, "My passport and birth certificate, are in a folder labeled important docs, in the second drawer of my filing cabinet."
etc. It solves that problem of "Oh, I'll put this here so I remember where it is 12 months from now… (12 months later), where the hell did I put that thing I knew I would need in 12 months.
A tool that converts any HTML template into React components using your tools and conventions of choice. It should generate a fully functional site and also try to abstract common patterns into reusable components.
I would pay for a tool, that will convert landing pages created in Wordpress into VueJs-Tailwind web apps which are super fast.
I'd want something like https://grammarly.com or http://www.hemingwayapp.com/ which takes your blog post & removes all the jargon words from it by using GPT-3. So it will be easier to read by even kids.
Not mine idea per se, but I liked the idea from Dashbit - Bytepack. They actually stopped working on it, so it's free to grab. It would be challenging tasks (various package ecosystem + world-wide accounting). But I really think it's a good idea.
