Hi Marvin, I try to unsub all newsletters. Turnoff notifications of almost all websites. I do the same in my phone.

@12months12projecs I think this is the trend turn-off notification.

I have turned most of them off. As I get them I decide if I want to keep that notification or not and if I don't it gets turned off, most of them are just not very useful.

@kodathecoder I set myself email windows. I check emails in the morning, around lunch time and in the evenings.

But I also schedule my day. So I check emails and then schedule to deal with them later. (unless it's urgent - it rarely is but if a server has gone missing that's important )

I've found that scheduling things for later in the day or week really has helped me. Usually I reply and say, I'll deal with it and update them as soon as I can and I've never had an issue doing that.

I have notifications turned off except for Slack which is our primary communication channel in company. I check emails when I have a spare minute between deep work cycles. The same applies to everything else.

If you are not my collegue on Slack, changes are that you won't be able to contact me immediately.

I turn them off and for important apps schedule routine times to check them or have all notifications route to email

All turned off! My phone and computers are lands of peace and tranquility 😌

My take is - nothing is really ever that urgent. If it was, they'd know to call or bang on my door.

I have notifications off for almost everything. Also I don't have any social apps on my phone.

For email, I unsubscribe like crazy from everything. Only try to receive email from real people. That doesn't come super often and when it does, it is usually important.

I turn all my notifications off by default, then turn the important ones (such as certain DMs etc) back on.

Also as soon as an email comes through thats from a newsletter I no longer read, I unsub so it stops spamming me. It's good to take a minute out of your day and unsub from all those unread newsletters 😁
