Looking for Advice for my blog!

Hey Guys,

I'm looking for some advice for my blog. Recently, My Blog went down. No Worries, I'm fixing it as we speak, well not really atleast trying to fix it.

In the meantime, I'm looking for some advice on my blog, feedback (for thoose of you who have seen it already) and Future Ideas. Like, where should I host or what should I do?

I have made this gold only to test gold discussion

Ah no that's a pain especially after you got 2 sponsors, Have you managed to figure out what happened to it and why?

What kind of advice are you looking for? Around content / topics ? If you can narrow down the scope of the feedback your looking for, it might lead to much better feedback and ideas.

I'm looking for advice on content, and overall site features, and where i should host it, etc.

@narrvv Ah that's a pain, I'd try and get to the bottom of why it was suspended though make sure it won't happen again. I'm not sure about hosting options. I just get Ghost to host mine, it means I never think about it and can just focus on the writing.

On features, I wouldn't really worry about those for a while. Focus on writing and getting content out there into the wild. Work on your writing skills and driving traffic first.

Content: I think you need to work out 4 or 5 topics to write about and start. Writing is a craft it takes time and energy, maybe of those 5 topics, cut it down to 1 or 2 and focus on those first and add in the others as you go.

What do you want to write about? What's the ultimate goal of the blog?
Is it just going to be interviews? If it is you need to just get out and walk the walk but that's generally harder than just writing articles because you have to get someone else's time.

If it was me,

  • I'd mix it up, interviews and articles on different things, you can tie them back to the interview "Check out the interview we did with X" and then go deep on something they mentioned in the interview.

  • Do some really deep research and find other people that have written articles that are on the topics I want to write about, pull them all together into a set of posts and link out to those people. Share it and tag them into it. If they can reshare it to their audience. (They might but don't beg, people looking them up will find it though)

But I'd stay away from the usual big names and go after people who are up and coming, writing good, different, and new advice instead of the generic posts. I'd go for the makers with under 1000 followers kind of thing.

Try build a cult like following and go really deep with the articles curating, sharing and teaching and documenting the things you try as you build your audience.

You tried out facebook ads? So go write a series of posts on ads, try some different things and then write about it.
