Wordpress vs custom code
Which is better between using wordpress vs using custom code for a city directory?
There is way better than wordpress now. Check the no code movement. Typically Webflow, Strikingly, Memberstack or Weblium could help you without code, but still extensible. Wordpress is full of security flaws if you don't use their .com platform, and you can't do much on their platform (no js)
@NicolasZozol If you want to have a 100% secure WordPress site - make a static version of it. Thought this way may have disadvantages, for example, you can't use server-side analytics.
@ostapbregin You can by putting nginx in front of you website, with a tool such as https://goaccess.io/. My static website https://www.robusta.io is hosted on Netlify, and because I'm lazy, I pay 10$ for Netlify analytics.
which one do you think is better ?
@fajarsiddiq I think that at the end, using custom code is the most secured solution. If OP is not a hardcore coder, I would go with Webflow + memberstack.
As someone who started with Wordpress, built custom stuff with Wordpress and hated on Wordpress and now builds with Node.js and Vue, I would advice the following:
Use Wordpress if you feel comfortable with it. It will get the job done!
