occasionally but when shit gets serious i pause it. Repetitive work i sometimes listen to music. And its always techno :)

Yes I do. Really gets me that extra boost. Unless the task is really complex, then I I'll turn it off so I can focus.

Absolutely! I was listenning to music in the office, always earphones on. And now I work from home I do that non stop. Sometimes I do listen to podcasts too. But music keeps me focus the most

Yes, I do. Lately, I've been using the new World of Warcraft Shadowlands Lo-Fi mix (it's like 4 hours long). I'm a super fan of videogames, so I tend to enjoy that.

Also, I use some background sounds from fantasies like Lord of the Rings the shire ambiance, or Harry Potter Hufflepuff ambiance for reading or soft working.

I live in a very noisy place so having that background sounds helps me stay in focus and creates a nice vibe in my room.

I definitely listen to music when I work. I usually listen to some jazz and swing music, the bass kind of keeps me on a constant rhythm for working on art or writing. If I'm doing some computer modeling or rendering i usually crank it up with some classic rock, 3d modeling can be extensive, slow and at time boring and frustrating and for me the classic rock keeps my energy up and pumped to work a lot more.

I used to but I went to a conference where they said in one of the sessions that listening to music while working cause you productivity to be lower. I'm looking for the notes so I can share the specific term.

I'm not able to when I'm coding - I need total silence in order to focus. Same when I play chess!

It depends. Some days I'm super focused and "in the mood" to code so there's no need. But when I'm not that "in the mood", Greenday always help 🤘

yes! i can't work without it as well. A lot of M83 and Kizomba tracks. sometimes i just play rain and forest sounds playlist.

Yes, it keeps me focused. Without music, the brain gets bored and distracted.

Only music without lyrics, otherwise i get distracted by that too 😂 So mostly techno / house / electronic, sometimes lo-fi.
