What newsletter tools do you use?

How do you send emails to your readers? Which tools are you using?

It depends on what types of emails you are talking about sending. If you are looking to send transactional emails, welcomes, trial coming to an end, notification emails. Then something like mailgun, AWS SES or Sendgrid are the way to go. Use the API and send what ever you want to send.

For marketing newsletters, there are a bunch of really good tools for sending newsletters around though and it's really about finding what fits you and what you are trying to send.

I gave an answer a while back here that had a break down on different options and what they are for, it might be worth a look at that discussion too, might give you an idea of what's out there.

@jamesmkenny Thank you! I was looking into what people use because I want to build a simple tool around that. The link to the thread you sent looks useful, I'll look into it.

I am using ConvertKit (https://app.convertkit.com/) for marketing newsletters and MailJet (https://app.mailjet.com) for transaction emails. Both tools are pretty good.

It's not something I have deployed yet but am very much enjoying Postmark and its new broadcast channel designed for this very purpose.

I'm trying out Email Octopus (https://emailoctopus.com) for marketing newsletters. It's been super easy to integrate the sign up forms.
