What books are you reading right now?

I'm quite literally in the process of reading The Lean Startup for the 10th time (really like the book), finishing Principles by Ray Dalio, and reading over Value Proposition Building.

I'm not huge into fiction… Love nonfiction though.

What are you reading, makers?

James Kenny

In non Fiction

I've been reading Zero to Sold by Arvid Kahl, it's a really good read on building a business, he covers some really great things.

Also picked up Everybody writes by Ann Handley and Keys to Great Writing by Stephen Wilbers. Plan on starting them soon enough, it's a part of my skill set I want to improve.

In Fiction

Just finished Wanderers by Chuck Wendig,

Have to decide what my next read will be now. Tempted to go for another Expanse book.

I finished that one for the first time a few weeks back! Couldn't get enough of it.

I'm working on Hidden Brain, which talks about our unconscious decisions and if we understand them better, we can consciously act better.

@palars Make is a fantastic read. I also got a lot of value from his talk in Bali.

I am reading much more Fiction these last couple years than Non-fiction. Once you have spent 10-12 years reading all the general advice about building teams and businesses, they kinda fizzle out. I still read Non-Fiction sometimes though. I am reading Shantaram for example, which is on the edge of Fiction and Fact based books.

I am going to start Leviathan Wakes, a Hugo Award winner SciFi novel, might continue the series. I will also read Founders at Work, by Jessica (YC co-founder) which is lying on my bookshelf for some years now.

I just finished Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom - both fiction, but a wonderful journey into the minds of gangs and political battles. I love fiction exactly because of this, the morals and values are still totally real. I started Ikigai, and Lost Connections (highly recommend if you are into books on mental issues). I read multiple books in parallel so that is the reason for this mess.

@jamesmkenny Thanks, I am about to jump on it after Shantaram. But this week is getting busier and my eyes stay tired from all the monitor time :( Need to do some restructuring of my schedule I think.

Just started reading 'The Smartest Guys in the Room' by Bethany McLean and Peter Elkind.

Its about the collapse of Enron, originally starting out as an article in Fortune magazine, the book builds up a back story on how Enron became a house of cards and how the cards fell.

Great example on how not to build company culture - or if youre going to break laws don't get caught 😉

Just finished "How to Take Smart Notes". While I wouldn't necessarily recommend the book, it definitively gave me a lot to think about the transformative impact that a well organized note taking system can have in your work. If you are interested, I'd suggest you search for "zettelkasten".
