Biggest Issue with Content Marketing?

Hey makers,

Hope you all are having a great weekend. So, I was wondering what do you think is the biggest issue you have when you do content marketing for your products?

For me, I find it hard because you have to make content and promote in regularly. I am more of technical person, so that's why I don't like doing the same thing haha.

What about you?

Understandable. The only way to improve is by iterating it.

Since I started my podcast I have no problem creating content. To the point I'm even writing a book. I'm not saying start a podcast, but if you want to I can help. It's the talking to myself element that has helped me. I suggest using otter.ai and talking about a subject you want to create content for.

Agreed. If we love what we are building or writing about, It won't always feel like a burden. Does Podcast helps you out in all the social media content creation?

@vaibhav not really, I'm bad at posting on social media. I always forget to post stuff.

In a lot of ways content marketing is really no different to programming or the technical side of things. With some time and practice you get better at it. It does take time.

It's taken me time to turn it into a habit. My advice is to work out what your weakness is. If it's just doing it regularly then maybe try schedule it.

If it's promoting it, maybe find some tools, buffer, hootsuite, contentr

If it's something that you just don't enjoy doing then you have to decide if you really want to do it or not. If you find it's not something you want to do then maybe you need to outsource it and find some one to take it on.

If you do want to do it and get better at it, then treat it like any other skill. Make some time in your schedule every week to create content and start sharing it. Doesn't matter what it is ( I started with code stuff, break downs on somethings I was working on and with)

Once you start writing and sharing that's the first step, but so much of content marketing comes from that first step.

I have tried Hootsuite and it actually is helpful to a big extent. And yes, The process should be enjoyable otherwise it will feel like a burden.

I agree with @vaibhav . Have been using Hootsuite for some time. Far from perfect when it comes to UX, but it gets the job done (and I haven't found anything better).

@doomhammer If you love Hootsuite, You should try it with Designtack. You can create content with Designtack and schedule it on Hootsuite. Saves a ton of time! (Yes, Shameless plug).

Picking a topic that hasn't been written about a million times before is really hard. I think it's probably easiest to just simply write about what we're up to, how we are building the business, and not treat it like marketing.

Why do you think you always need to write about something unique? If someone has written an article on mobile design, you can also write an article about mobile design. Your perspective will be different than million others.

You have a unique perspective. Even if something's been done million times (and most of the things already have), you will probably have insights nobody else has.
