Start working on first podcast ep. Still don't know if I can do it because it relies on nearly scheduled creatvity. Hmm.
I didn't even see that you started a podcast! The premise of mine is just me writing a new song each week…which is tough. Maybe sporadic episodes are better than none? In your case, have you canvased makerlog/nomadlist/indiehackers/twitter/dare-i-say-reddit for makers who might like to be on? Depends on the definition of successful, too…
hosting is the problem. The first one went fine, mostly because I know @booligoosh well haha but I'm quite scared of doing more and bringing even bigger guests. Plus haven't had the time
Just remember, the worst that can happen is you'll make a fool of yourself and it'll be awkward. That's it. And it probably won't happen anyway. Now imagine the best that could happen. You have a wonderful podcast where you have profound conversations with other founders and everyone learns a ton.
I've actually tried question templates - they just don't seem to work for me :P I like non-scripted things, they flow better
Oh, hmm. Well, a question template would definitely help, if you haven't created one. And otherwise I don't think there's too much pressure. If someone is giving you time for a podcast, I don't think they necessarily have big expectations, if any. The time/scheduling aspect is definitely challenging, though
sporadic are better than none for sure. i have checked who wants to be on - it's just that fear of getting started for me
oh man, well if I can let my subpar singing voice be heard, you can talk Making :) But are you fearful because of actually, like hosting it? Or because of a perceived pressure to then deliver more and more episodes (and have a greater workload because of it)? Btw, don't know what you're using, but I've been messing with Anchor and it makes things quite easy.
I had a script for the first 10 mins of the first shipcast and it was horrendous. Literally threw it to the garbage and it all went much better
I get that. Question template might have been the wrong term. Maybe just a simple list of 3-4 areas you want to cover (if you need guidance), scribbled on a piece of paper? XD 1. Who the person is, 2. What their main, current project is, 3. How they started it (solo/cofounder?; cost to start?; initial traction?) etc. etc. I do think letting things flow organically is best overall.
