Got it, time is on your side and prioritise commitments with other work, family & yourself. That is really tough. I'm thinking about this too if i were to put myself in your situation. Is it possible to create open source project to get help from a few people? can u just setup a simple camera phone record in 1080hd put in a wireless mic and talk abit how u to do basic painting how-to, different tools, different paint mixes. By end of July I should have all of my debts paid off. (roughly $70k+ in two years). First time in 20 years I'll not have credit card or student loan debt over my head. (hopefully)
@helengriffinjr & @fajarsiddiq I think it would be interesting to do for sure, it's just a huge time commitment to do myself. Need someone to "interview" me to get the details and have them write up a script/outline for me. :)
+1 yes you should start doing a video course + landing page + your portfolio you've done.
@codinglukas I should say it's house painting, not painting pictures. (not sure if that was clear).
Not my plan at all actually. I had painted when I was in high school and a bit through college but then vowed to never do manual labor for anyone but myself again. Instead I was going to do design and dev work. Then about 3 years ago I was nearly broke and buried in debt, hated my design work, hated my (few) clients and was tired of sitting at a computer. Painting made the most sense I decided at 2 in the morning, next day I registered the company and been painting ever since as my "day job". Best business decision I have ever made.
