Contemplate backend rewrite in NodeJS
MariaDB is actually good but I've been using postgres and haven't looked back. Super nice.
Kind of. I dug the old PlayParty code up to rewrite it the first time so it's currently using PHP (gross) and MySQL (gross). Something more dynamic made more sense.
Node was really appealing because it'll allow me to fetch direct YouTube links on the client-side with browserify which'll make it harder for YouTube to crush.
Yeah, I ended up sticking with MySQL because I've become kind of accustomed to it and through some research found out about improvements made.
