True. And personal observation: I do feel that non self-hosted PaaS services are more expensive. Currently staying on ploi.io

Yes, I use it with Hetzner. Another example of such PaaS could be Appliku.com or forge.laravel.com

And there are some open-source PaaS that can be deployed on kind of bare metal, so a lot of things to analyze. As I see some people like Heroku for it's simplicity with CI/CD, so I am checking this problem hypothesis

https://railway.app/ or https://render.com/ is popular nowadays, if you don't want to use your own virtual server. If server - Hetzner and GitHub Actions

So as I understand it's a managed PaaS but for your own servers. Do you host them on Hetzner or prefer another cloud?
