How do you collect user feedback?

Makerlog now uses HelloNext, made by Naveen, a maker here on Makerlog.

How do you collect feedback?

Depends on the product, but a combination of a live chat widget (currently SmallChat, going to be changing to Drift though) and nolt.io/

Interesting. How do you store it? Notion?

Hmm, if it's a small change then usually Todoist, broken out into projects, organised by when I think I'll be able to do it. If it's something bigger though I'll put it into Notion

About the live chat feedback - honestly, also switching to something else. SmallChat doesn't have all the features I need.

Ooh interesting that we're both thinking that. What are you thinking about changing to?

Probably back to Crisp, but looking at alternatives. I just really dislike Crisp's android app - notifications never work :/

Ohh yup, I originally used Crisp as well before SmallChat and had the same views, just didn't like their app and the design of their chat box 😅

Any alternatives? Is Draft any good?

It looks pretty great 😄 Check it out here, the free tier includes the chat window: https://www.drift.com/pricing/

My mate Jurn has it running on his site if you want to check out the customer view: https://www.screely.com

I use https://nolt.io to collect feedback, as people can vote which helps me plan what to add to the roadmap, which I currently use Trello but will be switching to Notion. For live chat, I've switched to Intercom as they now have a Free tier & it's sooo good!

Woah no way! Intercom has a free tier?? I can't find it on their site, mind linking me? 😇

I have no idea… I'm on my new Mac mini, and VPN'd to somewhere outside of the UK and US, and still get the same page. I promise, there IS a free tier lol! Here is the direct sign up link… hope this works! https://app.intercom.io/a/signup/teams?addon=true&free=true&solutionid=8

Lately I've been capturing feedback w/ Zoom and Voice Memo app on my phone. Then doc quick sales notes in HubSpot & rest in Google Docs. Nothing beats seeing people eyes lights up in disgust or excitement for a product.

Now that you mentioned Nolt, Nick I'll be looking into it for future app dev. I think I'm kind of early for that right now.

When did y'all start using feedback apps? What stage?

We're now on intercom. Thanks Nick! :P

Helen, have you tried Notion for notetaking?

Sergio, I came across like a month ago & have been reminded of it since joining Makerlog 😆but currently I'm using Asana for project management. Right now I'm leaning towards apps that integrate w/ ea other / zapier. I try to keep myself from playing w/ new apps like they're toys. I'll never get anything done or make 💰

Oh yeah :P Notion has a huge learning curve + doesn't integrate well. Though when you begin in it, it becomes your second home 😂

Man, just going through the discussion. Woah. Intercom is free! Thanks, Nick for the direct link.

Trying to put this statement subtly hellonext is working on directly gathering feedback from Intercom to hellonext buckets. Working on the integrations! 🎉 Will be available soon.

I use HelloNext for feedback and Notion for roadmap :)

Woah! That would be pretty useful Naveen!

Integration with Intercom would be slick, Naveen! Just trying out hellonext, think I'll be using it for drafty v2 🎉
